What Trusts are involved within the Collaborative Bank?

The following Trusts are currently involved within the collaborative bank:

Who is the Collaborative Bank available for?

The NCL Collaborative Bank is available for Band 2 nursing, Band 5 general nursing, including RMN’s, and Radiographers.

How do I sign up to the NCL Collaborative Bank?

  • Step 1. Ensure you are signed up to one of the temporary staffing banks at either: North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Whittington Health NHS Trust or University College London Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Step 2. Log into your MeApp or EmployeeOnline, press ‘opt in’ to CloudStaff Duties. This is found under the ‘Main Menu’ in the Me App or ‘My Profile’ in EmployeeOnline
  • Step 3. Once ‘opted in’, you’ll receive an email from the NCL Collaborative Bank email address [email protected] asking you to complete the ‘Joiner’ form, which includes you providing your payment information.
  • Step 4. Once you have done both of these steps, you’ll receive confirmation that you are part of the NCL Collaborative Bank and you’ll be able to start booking shifts via the Me App or EmployeeOnline.

How do I book a Collaborative Bank shift?

You’ll use your EmployeeOnline account or the MeApp to book a Collaborative Shift, just like booking a bank shift at your Home Trust.

How do I cancel a NCL Collaborative shift that I have booked?

Please contact your working trust at your earliest convenience to advise them that you wish to cancel the shift.

Who is my Home Trust?

Your Home Trust is where you are normally based.

What's the difference between a Home Trust and a Working Trust?

Your Home Trust is where you are normally based. A Working Trust is one of the other trusts where you can select shifts to work as part of the NCL Collaborative Bank.

I've signed up but it is not allowing me to book Collaborative Bank shifts. What can I do?

There could be a few possible reasons for this.

  1. If you have only just signed up, you’ll need to await confirmation from the NCL Collaborative Bank that you have been set up.
  2. Ensure you have also clicked ‘opt in to CloudStaff’ via either the Me App or EmployeeOnline
  3. If you are still having issues, reach out to your Home Trust for help. It is worth checking that your Home Trust bank team have your up to date compliance information.

I need to contact a Trust, how do I do this?

Your Home Trust is where you are normally based. A Working Trust is one of the other trusts where you can select shifts to work as part of the NCL Collaborative Bank.

What uniform should I wear when working collaboratively at another Trust?

Unless directed otherwise, you should wear the uniform provided by your Home Trust and comply with any infection control and any other relevant operational procedures of the Host Trust.

What's the process and who do I contact to obtain Trust login details and EPR credentials?

North Middlesex University Hospital: Please speak to the nurse in charge or department manager, where your collaborative shift is taking place, who will contact IT to request log-in details for you

Royal Free London: Please speak to the nurse in charge or department manager where your collaborative shift is taking place as they have spare dummy cards which can be used for collaborative workers.

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital: RNOH are currently in the process of implementing a new EPR system, therefore, please speak to the nurse in charge or department manager where your collaborative shift is taking place for further instructions.

Whittington Health: Please speak to the nurse in charge or department manager, where your collaborative shift is taking place, who will contact IT to request log-in details for you. You may be required to complete a very short e-learning course for log-in details to be issued.

Your Payslip

How will I receive my payslip?

The Payslip will be emailed to the email address you provided when you signed up.

I don’t have an email address. How do I receive my payslip?

An email address is required in order to sign up to the Collaborative Bank. Please speak to your home Bank trust for assistance.

How many payslips will I receive?

You will receive a payslip for each Trust that you have worked a Collaborative duty for and are due to be paid that week.

Pay Queries

When will I get paid for my Collaborative Bank shift?

The Payroll is run each Monday and includes duties from the previous weeks which have been authorised (finalised).
The Payroll is processed and if your duty is included you will be paid on the Friday of that week.

I have worked a duty but not yet been paid for it?

Usually funds will clear by 07:00 on Friday, however this is dependant on your bank.  Communication will be provided if this schedule is different due to a public holiday.

If you have received a payslip confirming payment, but funds have not cleared by midday on Friday, please check the details you supplied when registering.

If these are correct, please raise a pay query with your Home Trust.

When will the money I am being paid clear in my bank?

How is my National Insurance calculated?

With CloudStaff (the solution within EmployeeOnline & the Me App that powers the Collobrative Bank), National Insurance is calculated on a per-Trust basis from the duties you worked.

National Insurance rates can vary based on your category and earnings. You can view the rates and calculations for National Insurance on the HMRC website: https://www.gov.uk/national-insurance-rates-letters

My tax code is not right. How can I get this updated?

Changes to tax codes from HMRC are reviewed on a weekly basis and automatically updated. If your tax code is incorrect, it is most likely that HMRC have set an incorrect tax code or not notified the employer of the correct code.

You can use your Personal Tax Account available through HRMC to view your current tax Code, your employment information held by the HMRC and an estimate of the Tax you’ll pay. Your Tax Code is ultimately controlled by the HMRC therefore if you believe the Tax Code you are on to be wrong you will need to call the HMRC directly on 0300 200 3300

Please contact the Working Trust which you believe have paid you in error. If they agree that you received this payment in error, they may be able to arrange a repayment plan with you.

How is holiday pay calculated?

Holiday pay is calculated on a basis of 12.07% and should be displayed on your payslip
